I was translating the English. I wouldn't necessarily say the same thing in Lojban if I were trying to briefly express a relevant sentiment. Different languages use different expressions that don't necessarily have the same meaning.

And verbosity isn't necessarily a virtue. I believe Russian's express birthday wishes as

pozdravelyayu vas na dyen rozhdeniyi
I congratulate you on the day of birth

a full 12 syllables and comparable to my Lojban forms

Also, isn't it the case to use di'ai?

I have no idea, since I neither know nor use any experimental cmavo. At this point, none of them are official.
