The concept I'm going for is not "roof covering" or "tile of a type used in
Roman roofs", but "imbricate", "overlapping in a regular pattern". This
applies equally well to roof tiles and fish scales.

In my case, sometimes I don't get around to entering the word, sometimes I
don't feel certain enough after the discussion. I just entered "mifsle", but
I'm not sure that "tairmupli" doesn't cover "allele", or what the best word
for "SNP" is.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imbrex and the Italian version, the
Latin tegula is the Italian embrice, and the Latin imbrex is the Italian
coppo.
