I suggest "mi xebni ro nu do damba" for the second one. The "pa roi" version I think gives the wrong impression, it suggests you hate events involving single fights, but you might be ok with events in which multiple fights are involved. As in "I hate it when you fight just once, I like it when you fight again and again and again".

That seems a little strong; {ro lo ...} might dampen it a little bit. Still, if you added a {ro} or something to the {pa roi} version, presumably if you hate all of the isolated events you hate them as a unit, yes?

Suppose you belong to a fight club that meets every weekend for knockout tournaments where the loser in each match is eliminated and does not go on to fight in the next round. Suppose I'm a fan of yours. Then I can say "I hate when you fight once", because that means you were eliminated in the first round, and as your fan I want you to reach the finals, i.e. I love it when you fight many times.

More generally, I would say the distinction between "that X happens" and "when X happens" is like the distinction between "the X" and "any X" and has more to do with quantification than with the description of X.
