Is he talking about scribes and Pharisees in general, or just the ones at the

It's Luke 11:44. This started a week or two ago when I came across the Malay
and Javanese word "lombok" (I don't know where they got the word; the plant is
not native to the area). This (or some close cognate) is obviously the source
of Tok Pisin "lombo" in "kawawar na lombo na olgeta kain kumu" (lo zingibero
.e lo kapsiku .e lo vrici stagi). A Tok Pisin speaker told me years ago that
they say "sili" instead of "lombo", but the Tok Pisin NT says "lombo", and the
Malay word supports the meaning. So I translated it into Lojban, of course
referring to the Greek and Aramaic, as "lo diosmo .e lo .armala .e lo vrici
stagi".
