{vi claxu lo pluta} is perfectly fine. Here, {vi} acts as a selbritcita (in other words, it is part of the selbri). The argument of "vi" is implicitely «zo'e». The selbritcita construction allows you to say things like {lo vi plise} (the apple nearby).
