I don't know about programs for learning languages. My favorite method is to
get a book in the language I'm learning, and the same book in a language I
already know, and read them together. Of course, this is in addition to
talking with people who speak the language.

What languages do you already know? Knowing another Romance language will help
immensely; knowing another Indo-European language also helps, as the six
person-number forms of verbs are similar among most of them.

Spanish verb tenses are similar to English ones. There's an extra distinction
in the past tenses, and the present participle comes in adverbial and
adjectival forms, but progressives, past subjunctives, and conditionals are
formed similarly, and even "I'm going to <verb>" translates literally into
Spanish.
