It's possible this could be a beneficial project. But I just want you
to think of the plain numbers: A few words a week is 150ish a year, or
a DECADE LONG PROJECT to clarify the meanings of the original gismu.
We don't actually have any clear vision of where Lojban will be many
years from now or what we'll all being that whole time such that we
could coherently make a plan to do something consistently for a
decade.
(Also new words are being introduced at a rate faster than that, so if
the goal were to eventually get to all of the words and not just the
ancient gismu we'd actually be losing ground.)
A realistic pace as far as getting through the list would be more like
a dozen a day, which would get us through the whole list in a few
months. But that's intense!? What are we going to do, lock a team of
Lojbanists in a room for months working on it full time?! Most people
wouldn't have the time to comment at all on a dozen definitions a day,
let alone having real discussions to reach consensus about them all.

They absolutely were intended to be prescriptive. But the prescription
has in many cases not been followed! So where is your God now. :/
