  This is a good attempt, but I think it unfortunately suffers from too small a corpus.  Also, one weird side effect of your method is that every "la" followed by a name that it doesn't recognize comes out translated as "Tom "+name (e.g "la ionas cu klama lo zarci" -> "Tom ionas is going to the market".

This is a 'real' translation engine (as opposed to glossing), which is to try to give translation results that are as natural as possible.
