Also "ai'amsi" would pass the five letter rule, so that's not a valid justification for it. I take the five letter rule as an observation about lujvo (and gismu obviously), not as a requirement for all brivla.  

If the necessary conditions for brivla listed by CLL were also sufficient conditions, it might make sense to accept them as necessary even if arbitrary, but since they are not sufficient, it doesn't make sense to impose them as necessary for no reason.
