Why would we want to rewrite jsk?
There's only one reason that I personally know of: the person who
wrote it in PHP (Yanis Batura) doesn't want to work on it any more.
What advantages would the new language have?
Here, the main advantage to any programming language is that someone
willing to occasionally maintain jsk likes it. Any language that
discourages the few available programmers from maintaining jsk is
automatically the wrong language, regardless of intrinsic merit. If
you don't mind working in PHP, I'm all in favor of sticking with it.
