   Can someone explain or point me to where I can learn about why adding 'sel' is necessary?

   In the above statement, would removing the "ka" merely introduce vagueness, or would it result in an incorrect meaning?
   
   
3. And finally, after learning about be... bei... be'o, here's my attempt:
   
   "Soda pop is healthy for dogs' eyes."
   .i lo sodva cu xamgu lo gerku pe kanla lo ka kanro
   
   ...any issues?

"bei" works, but you don't need it in a "nu" abstraction. "lo sodva cu xamgu
lo gerku lo ka kanro tu'a le fanri be vi la niubyrn". (The last word refers
to a Lynx station. Look it up on CATS and Polaris and you should be able to
figure it out.)

For that I'd leave off the article and leave it a selbri: "nalcertu ke fanva
selcpedu". If it were an answer to a "ma" question, put the article in.
