I already gave these links to my friends. I don't know if they will join: they prefer web forums (one of them may maintain a PHPBB one if you wish).

The french mailing list archive is found here:
http://mail.lojban.org/lojban-fr/
From here, in a mail, I found the way to subscribe to it, here:
http://mail.lojban.org/mailman/listinfo/lojban-fr
It was in a sleeping state when I found it (with the last message in november 2012, and very sparse activity). But people are answering, which is good sign .ui

I was aware of this link, but because my computer is very weak, could not read it :-S. In fact, since the CLL is on github, I would have thought about a fork (and I love editing text files ;-))… But as you say, it is a big task, and I was of course willing to translate lessons first. I take note that if I want to participate to the CLL translation, I will have to contact Xelan.

I realise that it was not clear that I did not want to translate the CLL yet… I really want to translate lessons to begin with.
I was considering to translate the wave lessons first, but saw – reading the lojban lists – that their is also “lojban for beginners”. I was wondering which one would it be better to translate. (I'm going for the wave lessons if nobody makes me change my mind: they are on the wiki, which is nice to link translations)

That list is very poor. On the french mailing-list, they sent me some bigger lists (that are older than jbovlaste, if I understand). I don't know (yet) what to do with them. But I will focus on the lessons, for now.
