Think of it this way:

Imagine you HAD to add something to the x2 place of each tanru-unit.
So {mutce broda} ... It's a very WHAT kind of broda? It doesn't make
sense to flip it {broda lo (ka/nu) mutce} and it's not "very broda",
it's a "very something-ish broda"... it doesn't make sense because it
doesn't specify, but {broda mutce} tells us precisely what we want to
know.

However, {barda gerku} seems rather reasonable, because we're just
eliding the size and standard. If we add the x2 to {barda} it still
makes sense.
