Re: [lojban-beginners] Re: Words for Politics and Economics

ta'onai

Totus, did my concept of separating policies, political theory, and political parties speak to your concern about interpreting history versus naming?

I think maybe another aspect I left out might be the case of describing a political system, such as saying "China's government is communist." This would be yet another word sense for "Politics," something like a { turni ciste }, and I think naming a system of government should probably be a matter of attributive nomenclature.

For example
  • "America is a democracy" is not as good as "America's government is a constitutional democratic federalist republic."

    Likewise,

  • "China is communist" is probably better as "China's government is a constitutional single-party socialist republic"
I would think that in both the above cases, the main bridi (a republic) would be something like { gubni flalu turni ciste } "a government system based on public laws."

Note the contrast in describing these systems { turni ciste } as opposed to theoretical communism/democracy/libertarianism and the like, which might be { turni saske } or { turni sidbo }.

...not sure, from the ideas I've laid out here, how one would go about lujvo formation? Better yet, how would one explicitly say these concepts using exclusively the constituent gismu?

Also, I just tried to translate the menu into Chinese, but all I can figure out how to do is change the name of a particular menu item for all languages. Help?
