Syntactically, it is clearly a separator. But notice that so are ".i
je", ".i ca bo", and such. It's not always just the single ".i" that
is the separator.

The tricky bit are the attitudinals that follow the separator, because
semantically they apply to the following sentence but syntactically
they attach to the separator.
