How about "nurselkla" (a safe place to go to) for "refuge"?

Sounds good to me.

"ancient" could also be translated "dzena", which means "ancestral".

That has to be "zerle'a" or "zeirle'a". "vofli zeile'a" is a quite unclear 
lujvo of "vofli" and a preposition meaning "in class". Could also 
be "vijyzeile'a" (stealers of airplanes, or people who use airplanes to 
steal) or "vijyzergau" (people who commit crimes that have something to do 
with airplanes), or "vijyzersazri" (people who unlawfully take command of 
planes).
