No, that's a dialectal thing. Some people will always use {cu}
whenever possible, some (like myself) will use {cu} only when felt
necessary (like instead of kuku or some strange number of
terminators). So, if that is your only logic, it is an incorrect
assumption. It's like operating under the assumption that your accent
is the only one that matters when determining how something is
pronounced in English.
For the record, {.i } is rather important as {xu do tavla} is
meaningless horseshit AFAIC due to the fact that {xu} is not attaching
to anything, regardless of how often this phrasing is used.
Regardless of what the usage is now, we have the collective opinions
of a bunch of misguided and uninformed newbs and one crazy person that
disagrees with everything on a regular basis as the standard in this
thread. =D
{ni'o} is for new subjects, {.i } is for continuing those subjects,
{no'i} is for old subjects. Even if you don't normally use them or see
them used, please start using them.
