That has never been true though. For example, the two valid but very
different spellings:
"coi djan i mi klama le zarci" and "coi.djan.imiKLAmaleZARci"
correspond to the same speech stream.
And similarly the spelling "coi djan i mi klama le zarci" can be
pronounced with several equivalent but valid and different speech
streams.
So there is no audiovisual isomorphism. That has always been a misnomer.
What we do have is that all the valid different pronounciations for a
given spelling have the same meaning, and all the valid different
spellings for a given speech stream have the same meaning. But that is
not an isomorphism. I wish people stopped calling it that.
