That meant that at the time of posting this it was already April 1 in e.g. Japan.
It was an "announecment " with an intentional mistype so not an "announcement ". So no complaints :P
We have to announce that a general agreement of mutual support has been reached between Apple Inc. and the LLG.
According to this agreement Apple Inc. will translate the interface of all it's devices on the market to Lojban which will make them true pieces of artificial intelligence. Also it'll remove any future problems with Apple Maps because if a person can't read the maps in Lojban it's the problem of that person, not the maps.
From the lojbanists' part the word {.aple} will be added to jbovlaste.
It's meaning will be
"x1 is an apple of breed x2 bitten by x3 (by default by Tim Cook, the current CEO of Apple Inc.)"
We also got two requests for cooperation from two strange companies, lojbanised names of which are {la mikrysofto} and {la samsunga}.
We have to say that we are not going to collaborate neither with any small Soviet companies nor with computer garlics that for sure don't taste right.
Other news are coming from BPFK.
Due to the depletion of free cmavo space 8 new phonemes are added to lojbanic alphabet, namely
@ - bilabial click sound
| - dental click sound
! - alveolar click sound
|| - lateral click sound
All of those sounds can be also nasalised in which case they are prefixed with {m} or {n} that are considered part of the sound, not a separate phoneme. So the total number of new phonemes is 8.
We know that for some Lojbanists those sounds will pose a problem. But as everything has been already decided upon let's have a practice.
As for now we have only two proposed words with these sounds.
1. The word {m@a} is an attitudinal that denotes "kiss".
m@a. selmaho UI1. "The _expression_ of kissing someone."
I attached the sounding of this word to this post.
Please listen now to the mp3 attached below !
2. Another word is
m@o. selmaho @UI1. "The _expression_ of something tasting pleasant."
Example:
{lo pitnanba m@o cu barda} - "The pizza (yum! yum!) is big."
This selmaho @UI1 will be exclusively used for attitudinals of sensory input/output.
You can learn more about other click sounds and how to correctly pronounce them from the following video
and from the wikipedia page.
These click sounds can give us not less than 80 new cmavo in the form of CV.
Additionally, click sounds will give future Lojbanists from Africa some feeling of closeness to our universal language.
Isn't it what Lojban should aim for?
m@a to all of you!
