The problem I see with {broda NOI brode} is that it messes with
constructs like {lo broda NOI brode}. If NOI can attach to selbri, then
there is no longer a way to put NOI inside the LE description (e.g. "lo
broda noi brode [ku'o] [ku]}, which makes a difference when outer
quantifiers are present.

Similarly, it breaks the likes of

mi catlu lo nu lo gerku do jersi [[kei] ku] noi xajmi mi

whether or not quantifiers are present. {ku} is never elidible in such a context then (in addition to inner NOI being impossible).

It's a pity, really. (because it breaks so much usage and especially because it is hard to fix with search-and-replace, unlike some other proposed changes.)
