Wouldn't you say:

   li pabi cu tcika lo nu .ei mi penmi da
  .i ku'i li pasopi'eji'icino cu tcika lo nu mi tolcliva

Or, "raising" the subclauses:

   .ei mi penmi da ti'u li pabi
   .i ku'i mi tolcliva ti'u li pasopi'eji'icino

The only problem with "ca li ..." is that in some cases it may not be
clear if you are giving a time or a date.
