my only residual query: do you see any "never mind" polysemy here?

case 1
A: What was that you just said?
B: Never mind.

case 2
A: What kind of breaks are the safest?
(Brakes, not breaks. Breaks = "resting periods" or, as a verb, "is destroyed".)
B: Never mind that; just remember to wear a helmet!

When you say { ju'inai } covers 'never mind' I agree in case 1, but
feel suspicious about case 2, where my interpretation is that the
attitudes reflect importance for consideration/remembering of
something.
