Just because something is ugly for one person doesn't mean it's
ugly for another. I'm reminded of once being told that
serif fonts are 'nicer', 'more pleasant' and
'easier to read', and that it was scientifically proven. Then it turned
out that the research had been done in the USA, and that in Germany
they prefer non-serif fonts! What's 'pretty or 'ugly' is personal and
cultural. I think we should leave this subject alone until Chinese,
Arabic and Tamil lojbanists have had a chance to comment. Then
if they all agree something looks 'ugly', we can change it.
