Sorry, why doesn't that mean that the code of conduct that has obliged you to look is 'lo drata jibri'? I thought that the sumti bound to the outer selbri unless given an inner specifier.

BAIs are tags, like PU, and like all tags they can be used as sumti
tcita or as selbri tcita. (Or as connectives.)
"mi ki'u bilga" is like "mi pu bilga", except with "because
(whatever)" instead of "before (whatever)".
"mi ki'u bilga lo nu cuxna lo drata jibri" is "I therefore (i.e.
because of contextual reason) had to choose another job."
