[lojban] Re: Lojban Kids Show

That sounds like one of many possibilities at this point. I can't say
what we'll be doing as we're not even close to that stage of
production, but I'll keep it in mind as a possibility.

If anybody would like to assist in the current stage of development,
that would be the most helpful. We need to establish customs,
holidays, and at least the block on which the protagonist is going to
live. For the neighbourhood, we need to know what shops are where, who
runs them, etc. Bring the area to life by giving its inhabitants life,
even if they're only seen once every five episodes, or once at all.

One life-giving element I would like to see is some kind of shop run
by a "native" Lojbanana.

If anybody else is intimately familiar with a culture, please come up
with some kind of character and place for that character that is
extremely characteristic of that particular culture. I think a
Japanese restaurant is probably the best example for Japanese culture.
I can't think of anything more culture-laden than a mom-and-pop
washoku place. Maybe an old Scottish lady could run the school library
or an old book store? I'm just basing these off of my experiences.
Every used book store and library, in my experience, has an old
Scottish woman, and every mom-and-pop Japanese restaurant has felt
very welcoming to me, so I try to bring my positive memories forward
and blend them in to all of this. If anybody else has any positive
experiences or memories regarding a foreign culture, post about them,
paint a picture of it, create a character based on it.

Our character hasn't landed yet, so let's build up something before he
does. =P
