This example happens in L4B and is not on the Errata page.
I understood {ko'a sanli ri'u vi la meiris.} as "He stands to the right of me near Mary"
whereas
{ko'a sanli ri'u je vi la meiris.} would mean "He stands just to the right of Mary", the meaning that L4B showed in the English sentence.

Well, as {vi}'s argument is a space distance, I guess that {ko'a sanli ri'u je vi la .meiris.} means "He stands on the right of Mary and apart from [something] by a short distance equivalent to [the space occupied by Mary?].".
Correct me if I'm wrong. :)
