I forgot to add my opinion regarding a foreign language.
I don't think a foreign language class is necessary, it should just be
one of those social obligations. Just like one must wear clothing and
bathe regularly, one should learn at least one other language. I think
that a second language would come from second-term education
(interests and vocational education). So it isn't an obligation for
finishing school, but it's highly unusual to not know at least one
other language.
