Maybe that's not the most satisfying answer, I apologise.
Lindar's vision as I understand it is to create a near-perfect society for Lojgugde, approaching a utopia.
Without wishing to tip my hand too early on the scripting ideas, dropping in a character who lives in a futuristic society already will not give the same sense of awe and wonder as someone who shares only our current mundane experience.
Viewers will relate better to someone who's undergoing the same discovery as they are - I want our young viewers to feel privileged and excited to be sharing the revelations Alpha enjoys, rather than be made to feel like they're watching something that has no common root with their everyday world.
There are plenty of plot devices to do this, and they don't prevent Lojgugde from being in its idealised state right now, with better technology and so on.
