Dot Side, so far as I know, is a direct result of http://www.lojban.org/tiki/The+Case+Against+LA

And all it does is make it so that all cmevla are always required to have a '.' before and after to delimit them, whereas before, cmevla which began with a consonant were not required to have a '.' /preceding/ them when they were immediately preceded by doi, la, lai, or la'i.

So, not Dot-Side:

mi'e.aionys.   doi.aionys.   la.aionys.
mi'e.djan.      doi djan.       la djan.

la doitclynd. -- {la doitcland.} is illegal.

Actually "doitclynd" was "doi tclynd". In some versions the "la" in "tcland" was acceptable because it follows a consonant and so the word cannot break up at that point.
