I'd never heard of "da'ai" outside of this thread, but it sounds from
the references herein like it is a version of "dai" that specifically
excludes any meaning other than observation of another's emotional
state, with no empathetic emotion on the part of the speaker being
indicated.
I'd love it if somebody more familiar with the currently "in" raft of
experimental cmavo would confirm.
