I may have missed something, but, is there any specific reason for not using
plain {jo'u} (or {joi})?

Not really, no. It was just easier to add two words than to change three.

It does have the side-benefit of showing that there are multiple ways to say the same thing, as I do use joi for the same purpose in a different jufra.
